News: Dine with Dayang

Dayang Nurfaizah (above) has once again stepped up for charity. This time, it's for the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF). Ared ribbon celebrity supporter, she will be performing for the 'Dayang Nurfaizah Celebrates Women Charity Dinner' this month.

The dinner is held in conjunction with the United Nations International Women's Day 2010. Dayang's theme song for MAF, Ku Temu Cahaya, will be launched on the same night as well.

"The charity dinner is a chance for me to once again help the Foundation raise funds to be used for treatment, care and support programmes for women and children living with HIV & AIDS. This group of people are the most affected, mentally and emotionally," said Dayang during the press conference.

"Insya-Allah, with the funds raised, the Foundation is able to empower women to have a positive attitude and gain the strength to care for themselves and their children. I believe that with a positive attitude and a good support system, women and children living with HIV & AIDS will have a better quality of life."

Also present at the press conference was Datin Mina Cheah-Foong, Board of Trustees of the MAF who added that they hope to raise RM250,000 from the charity dinner.

"Funds collected will be channeled to women and children who are living with HIV and AIDS in Kota Baru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur. Through these funds, we trust these women are able to improve their standard of living by starting small businesses; like managing a grocery shop or working as a tailor," said Datin Mina.

You can catch Dayang's exclusive performance through table donations of RM5,000 and RM10,000. Each table seats 10 guests. The performance will be held on March 28 at 8pm, One Bangsar Ballroom, Jalan Ara, Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur.
